Elvis Costello, born Declan Patrick MacManus in 1954 in the United Kingdom, is a British singer-songwriter known for his influence on modern pop music. Initially part of the pub rock scene, he rose to prominence in the late 1970s as one of the leading figures of the new wave movement. Over his career, seven of his albums reached the UK Top 20, with "Brutal Youth" peaking at #2. His most successful singles include "I Can’t Stand Up For Falling Down" and "A Good Year for the Roses".
