Charlie Haden was an American jazz double bassist and composer born in 1937 in the United States. He went down in jazz history as an innovator of the double bass, significantly influencing the development of modern jazz. Haden collaborated with such outstanding musicians as Ornette Coleman and was a member of the legendary Ornette Coleman Quartet . His famous works include the albums "Liberation Music Orchestra" and "Beyond the Missouri Sky" Rolling Stone magazine included him among the greatest bassists of all time. His contribution to jazz remains unrivaled, particularly in the areas of improvisation and ensemble playing.
