Yves Jamait is a French singer-songwriter, born on October 28, 1961. Before embarking on a musical career, he pursued various other careers. In 1998, he formed a musical group, initially a trio called De Verre en vers . His first album was released under this name. The group later expanded and became known as Jamait . Yves Jamait writes the music and lyrics for most of his songs, many of which are autobiographical. His stage persona invariably includes a cap. The artist is also known as a fan of Vladimir Vysotsky, which is reflected in his style. Yves Jamait has made a significant contribution to the development of French chanson.
