
Franco Battiato (born March 23, 1945 – died May 18, 2021) was an Italian composer, pop singer, musician, artist, and director. His work spanned genres such as pop and Latin American music. Battiato released numerous albums, including iconic works such as "La Voce del Padrone" which became one of the first Italian albums to sell over a million copies. His songs, such as "Centro di gravità permanente" remain popular today. Franco Battiato made a significant contribution to the development of Italian pop music, combining traditional and experimental elements.
