Viikate is a Finnish rock band from Kouvola, founded in 1996. The band's name translates from Finnish as "scythe." The band's primary genre is folk metal, which they perform with a uniquely Finnish flair. Viikate performs extensively in their homeland and internationally, including concerts in Tallinn at the Naapurivisa festival and in St. Petersburg as part of the Ilosaarirock festival tour.
