Сергей Лемешев (1902–1977) was a prominent Soviet opera singer, director, and teacher, originally from Russia. He was awarded the title of People's Artist of the USSR and became a laureate of the Stalin Prize, second degree. Лемешев became renowned for his lyric tenor, which made him one of the most renowned performers of the role of Lensky in Pyotr Tchaikovsky's opera "Евгений Онегин" .
