
Александр Цфасман (1906–1971) was a Soviet pianist, composer, arranger, and conductor born in the USSR. One of the founders of Soviet jazz, he made a significant contribution to the development of the genre in the country. Цфасман led several jazz groups, including the All-Union Radio Jazz Orchestra, where he served as artistic director. His work encompassed both original compositions and arrangements that became iconic in the Soviet music scene. An Honored Artist of the RSFSR, Цфасман left an indelible mark on the history of jazz, popularizing the genre and inspiring subsequent generations of musicians.
