Иван Петров (real name Иван Иванович Краузе ) was a Soviet and Russian opera singer, actor, teacher, and publicist, born on February 29, 1920. He was a People's Artist of the USSR and a two-time Stalin Prize laureate. Иван Петров performed on leading opera stages of the USSR, performing roles in works such as Boris Godunov and Eugene Onegin. His outstanding voice and mastery made him one of the most respected opera singers of his time. Петров also made a significant contribution to the development of opera by training a new generation of singers. He died on December 26, 2003.
