Фёдор Иванович Шаляпин (1873–1938) was a distinguished Russian opera and chamber singer, originally from Russia. He was a soloist at such renowned theaters as Большой театр , Мариинский театр , and Метрополитен Опера . From 1918 to 1921, Chaliapin served as artistic director Мариинского театра . His repertoire included key roles in operas such as Boris Godunov and Don Quixote. Фёдор Шаляпин became the first People's Artist of the Republic, emphasizing his contribution to the development of Russian musical culture.
