Moeder - De Kift

Ik zit in het goud van de dalende zon

Ik kijk van me af, kilometers ver over het land

De nacht valt hier niet, maar rukt op

Neemt langzamerhand alle licht weg uit de lucht

Absorbeert het goud, totdat er een inktzwarte duisternis overblijft

Waarin alleen af en toe een koplamp oplicht

Vroeger, he, toen waren er feesten

En toen danste ik met alle mannen

Muziek, muziek en maar dansen, de hele nacht

Ja, toen was alles nog goed

Ik was nog volkomen, nog totaal nog onschuldig

En daarom zei ik 'ja'

Ik was gewoon wereldvreemd

Toen was ik daar, drie of vier…

Nou weet ik het niet meer

Nou zie je het, hoe mijn gedachten wegvliegen

Drie jaar was ik met hem getrouwd

Toen is teerwater op de wereld gekomen, een jongen

Ik heb op de schouw een foto hangen

En ik brand elke nacht een kaars

En toch zie ik die foto niet
