Hab gehofft, dass es auch ohne all die plumpen Worte geht

Mein «Ich liebe dich"waren bilder, die m, an vielleicht nicht leicht versteht

Und ich habs so oft gesagt, tief versteckt in Poesie

Ich habs so oft gesagt, tief versteckt in Idiotie

Jetzt sitz ich hier und trinke Wein

Um weit weg von dieser Welt,

in der du mich nicht siehst, zu sein

Und ich schließ mich weiter ein

Und hier im Stillen bin ich Dein

Hab gehofft, dass man den Dingen ihren Zauber lassen kann

Und dann war alles voller Zauber und wir kamen nicht voran

Jetzt sitz ich hier und trinke Wein

Um weit weg von dieser Welt,

in der du mich nicht siehst, zu sein

Und ich schließ mich weiter ein

I was hoping that it would work without all the clumsy words

My "I love you" were images that I might not understand easily

And I've said it so many times, hidden deep in poetry

Now I'm sitting here drinking wine

To far away from this world,

where you don't see me to be

And I keep shutting myself in

I was hoping that things could be left with their magic

And then everything was full of magic and we weren't making any progress
