Marc Almond (full name Питер Марк Синклер Алмонд ) is a British singer and musician born in 1957. He is best known as a member of the electronic pop duo Soft Cell (1979–1984), where he co-wrote the hit "Tainted Love" He also founded the project Marc and the Mambas . Since 1984, Marc Almond has performed solo, releasing numerous albums and autobiographies. His records have sold over 30 million copies. In 2018, he was awarded an Officer of the Order of the British Empire for his services to the arts.
