PJ Proby , also known as Пи Джей Проби , is an American singer, musician, songwriter, and actor born on November 6, 1938. Despite a lack of success in his home country, he became a pop star in the United Kingdom in the mid-1960s. His expressive stage performances brought him popularity, and four singles, including " Hold Me ," reached the top ten of the UK Singles Chart in 1964–1965. PJ Proby had a significant influence on the development of pop and rock music, particularly in the United Kingdom.
