Ian Gillan (also known as Ян Гиллан ) is a British rock musician born in 1945. He is best known as the lead singer of the legendary band Deep Purple , where his powerful voice became a hallmark of such hits as "Smoke on the Water" and "Child in Time" Гиллан also performed the role of Jesus in the original version of the rock opera "Иисус Христос — суперзвезда" by E. Webber and T. Rice. In the 1980s, he also collaborated with Black Sabbath , recording the album "Born Again" . Ian Gillan had a significant influence on the development of hard rock and remains a cult figure in the genre.
