Roger Glover (Roger David Glover) is a British bass guitarist, musician, songwriter, and producer, born November 30, 1945. He is best known as a member of the legendary rock bands Deep Purple and Rainbow . As a member of Deep Purple , he contributed to such iconic albums as "Machine Head" which included the hit "Smoke on the Water" Glover also worked with Rainbow , where he distinguished himself as a producer and musician. His contribution to the development of rock music includes not only playing bass but also producing albums for other artists. Roger Glover remains a key figure in the history of classic rock.
