A multi-instrumentalist, Yusef Lateef was renowned for his mastery of the tenor saxophone, flute, and oboe. His notable works include albums like "Eastern Sounds" and "The Centaur and the Phoenix". He received a Grammy Award in 1987 for his album "Yusef Lateef's Little Symphony". His innovative approach expanded the boundaries of jazz, incorporating elements of global music traditions.
