
Nat Adderley was an American jazz cornetist and composer born in 1931 in Tampa, Florida. A prominent figure in the hard bop genre, he was the younger brother of saxophonist Cannonball Adderley. Over his career, Nat Adderley worked with renowned labels such as Riverside Records and Atlantic Records. He is best known for his composition "Work Song", which became a jazz standard. Nat Adderley also played a key role in the Cannonball Adderley Quintet, contributing to its success with his distinctive cornet sound. His work significantly shaped the evolution of modern jazz.
