Tri Yann is a French folk group founded in 1970 in Nantes. The band's name, Tri Yann an Naoned , translates as "Three Yanns of Nantes," a reference to the founders' names, Jan (Yann in Breton). The group performs Breton music, combining traditional motifs with elements of folk rock. Tri Yann first public performance took place on December 27, 1970, in Plouharnel. Over the course of their long career, the group has released numerous albums and become a symbol of Breton musical culture. Tri Yann have made a significant contribution to the popularization of folk rock and traditional music in Brittany.
