Black Eyed Peas were an American hip hop group from Los Angeles, formed in 1995. Their lineup included rappers will.i.am , apl.de.ap , and Taboo , as well as singer J. Rey Soul . Initially working in the alternative hip hop genre, the group later shifted their focus to pop and dance-pop. Their breakthrough came with the release of their album Elephunk in 2003, which brought them worldwide fame.
