CL (real name: Ли Чэ Рин ) is a South Korean singer, rapper, and songwriter born on February 26, 1991. She is best known as a former member of the girl group 2NE1 , one of the most influential K-pop groups. Before debuting with 2NE1 in 2009 under YG Entertainment , she trained under JYP Entertainment . In 2013, CL launched her solo career with the single " The Baddest Female ," and in 2014, she released the track " MTBD ." Her work combines elements of pop and hip-hop, which has made her a key figure in the K-pop industry.
