He rose to prominence in 2019 with the tracks "Welcome to the Party" and "Dior" which cemented him as a leading exponent of Brooklyn drill, a hip-hop subgenre characterized by dark and nihilistic lyrics. Despite his short career, Pop Smoke managed to release several successful projects, including the posthumous album "Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon" His contributions to the development of drill music have made him a cult figure within the genre.
