Oscar Peterson (1925–2007) was a Canadian jazz pianist, composer, and educator, widely regarded as one of the most virtuosic pianists in jazz history. Born in Montreal, Canada, he gained international acclaim for his technical brilliance and improvisational skills. Over his career, he collaborated with legends like Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, and Dizzy Gillespie. His trio, often referred to as The Oscar Peterson Trio, set a high standard for small jazz ensembles. Notable works include albums like "Night Train" and "Canadiana Suite". A recipient of numerous awards, including eight Grammy Awards, he left an indelible mark on jazz through his recordings and teaching.
