Charlie Shavers (1917–1971) was an American jazz trumpeter known for his contributions to traditional jazz. He collaborated with legends such as Dizzy Gillespie , Nat King Cole , Roy Eldridge , Johnny Dodds , Jimmy Noone , Sidney Bechet , Mezz Mezzrow , Tommy Dorsey , and Billie Holiday . In addition to playing the trumpet, he was a talented arranger and composer. His composition " Undecided " has become a jazz standard. Charlie Shavers left a significant mark on jazz, enriching the genre with his virtuoso performances and outstanding arrangements.
