Johnny Mercer (1909–1976) was an American lyricist, composer, and singer from the United States, primarily associated with traditional jazz. Known for penning over 1,500 songs during the 1930s–1950s, many of his works became iconic hits of the era. His lyrics graced numerous Hollywood films and Broadway productions, and he often performed his own compositions. Mercer was nominated for 12 Academy Awards, winning four times.
