Sur une mappemonde, on voit la mer en bleu

Que la Terre est bien ronde, que tout va pour le mieux.

Mais au niveau du sol, il y a des habitants

Et la cour de l’cole, et tous les adjudants.

Des ocans qui grondent, des montagnes en feu

Des immeubles qui tombent et des gens malheureux

C’est pour a qu’il vaut mieux, quand on a des ennuis

Regarder vers le haut mais quand le ciel est gris

Se dire que la Terre a des problmes aussi

Sur une mappemonde, on les voit tout petits.

Je voudrais voir le Monde ainsi qu’on l’a dcrit

Sur une mappemonde, avec tous ses pays

Mais au niveau du sol, il y a toujours des gens

Qui perdent la boussole en gagnant plein d’argent

Et les armes qui marchent se dchirent ou se noient

Sous les canons qui crachent qui dtruisent et qui broient.

C’est pour a qu’il vaut mieux, tant qu’on en a envie

Se trouver bienheureux d’tre toujours en vie

faire le tour du monde en rvant dans son lit

Sur une mappemonde o tout est si joli

O la Terre est bien ronde, o la mer est bien bleue

O pour quelques secondes, tout irait pour le mieux.

On a world map, we see them very small.

I would like to see the world as it was described

On a world map, with all its countries

But at ground level there are always people

Who lose the compass by earning lots of money

And weapons that work tear or drown

Beneath the spitting cannons that destroy and crush.

That's what it's best for, as long as you want it

Feel blessed to still be alive

travel around the world dreaming in bed

On a world map where everything is so pretty

Where the Earth is round, where the sea is blue
