Total Egal - Wise Guys

Mir ist alles egal, total egal,

das klingt vielleicht jetzt brutal, doch ich find’s völlig normal.

Ich bin kein bißchen sozial und auch nicht kollegial,

ich gehe niemals zur Wahl, denn mir ist alles egal.

Ich hab' keine Hobbies, denn mir fehlt das Interesse,

hab' nicht allzuviel Bildung, weil ich alles vergesse.

Ich geh' nie ins Theater, häng' zuhaus vor der Glotze,

wo ich dann über alles, was gesendet wird, motze.

Ich hab' ein paar Kumpels, und die geh’n mit mir saufen,

es macht mir viel Spaß, neue Klamotten zu kaufen,

ich steh' echt auf Cabrios mit Funktelefon,

aber ansonsten, glaub' ich, war’s das auch schon.

Mir ist alles egal, total egal,

Ich hab' nach der Schule BWL studiert,

ich geb' offen zu, das hat mich nie interessiert.

Doch man hat mir gesagt, mehr als mit anderen Sachen

kann man da tierisch schnell 'ne Menge Kohle mit machen.

Ich geh' nicht mehr zur Kirche, denn da fehlt mir der Sinn,

doch ich heirate kirchlich, das ist jetzt wieder in.

Ich hab' meine Eltern beinah' völlig vergessen,

ich fahr' Weihnachten hin, dann gibt’s was Leckeres zu essen.

Mir ist alles egal, total egal,

Ich kann nicht klagen, ich hab' Geld genug

und lebe gut mit meinem Selbstbetrug.

Nur manchmal, wenn ich nachts nicht schlafen kann,

dann fang' ich plötzlich mit dem Grübeln an.

Dann wünsch' ich mir manches Mal ein Ideal

und eine gute Moral, mein Leben ist so banal…

Doch dann mach' ich mir klar, das ist im Grunde egal,

denn Leute wie ich sind in der Überzahl.

That may sound brutal now, but I find it completely normal.

I'm not a bit social nor collegial,

I never vote because I don't care.

I don't have any hobbies because I'm not interested

I don't have much education because I forget everything.

I never go to the theater, hang at home in front of the telly

where I then moan about everything that is broadcast.

I have a couple of buddies and they go drinking with me

I really enjoy buying new clothes

I really like convertibles with radio phones,

but other than that, I think that's about it.

I don't care, I don't care at all

I studied business administration after school,

I'll admit, I've never been interested in that.

But I've been told more than with other things

you can quickly make a lot of money with it.

I don't go to church anymore because I don't have the sense

but I'm getting married in a church, that's back in fashion now.

I almost completely forgot my parents

I'm going there at Christmas, then there's something delicious to eat.

I don't care, I don't care at all

I can't complain, I've got enough money

and live well with my self-deception.

Only sometimes when I can't sleep at night

then I suddenly start brooding.

Then sometimes I wish for an ideal

and good morals, my life is so mundane...

But then I realize that it doesn't really matter

because people like me are in the majority.
