Drachentöter - Schandmaul

Ich ritt von Norden in die Stadt und es war sehr sonderbar

Kein Leben, obwohl es heller Tag noch war

Die Türen allesamt verschlossen

Kein Fenster stand mehr offen

Ging zum nächsten und

Begann daran zu pochen

Ein Spalt nur wurde es geöffnet

Sah eine Hand, die an mir zerrte

«Ihr seid zu spät!

Er nahm bereits

Was er begehrte.»

Rannt' zurück zu meinem Ross

Ritt eilig aus der Stadt — viel zu wenig

Zeit ich hatt'…

Seht ihn euch an, so strahlend schön

Von Kraft gestählt.

Er sitzt hoch zu Ross

Von Todesmut und Wut beseelt.

Dem

Untier ständig auf der Jagd, für das, was

Es verbrochen hat.

Im ganzen Land, ist er als Drachentöter wohlbekannt, der

Drachentöter er genannt…

In tiefes Schwarz der Gang getaucht

Kaum atmen konnte ich noch.

Blind vorwärts

Und dann spürte ich ihn doch

Ein rotes Glühen, ein Lauter Schrei

Er Flammen nach mir warf

Ich führte die Klinge, schlug und traf!

Das Untier stöhnte

Brach zusammen

Schwarzes Drachenblut mich

Netzte und in mir eine Macht freisetzte!

Ich traf erneut und sah er starb

So trug ich Kunde in das Land und war

Fortan denn wohl bekannt.
