Als einst von fern das Jagdhorn schallt, und Jäger hetzten durch den Wald

Der Hirsch droht zu entkommen!

Doch rannt' ich schneller als das Tier

Mit bloßer Faust niedergerungen, das Geweih hier als Beweis dafür

Der alte bärt'ge Wandersmann, fängt mit der Geschichte an

Als einst ein Sturm das Meer zerwühlt und Mann und Maus vom Schiffsdeck spült

Das Schiff drohte zu sinken, die Segel rissen wie Papier

Ich holte Luft und blies den Sturm fort, das Leinen als Beweis dafür

Sie rannten fort wie scheues Getier, der Helm hier als Beweis dafür

Als einst der jüngste Tag entbrach und alles von dem Ende sprach

Es leckten Flammen in die Welt, als offen stand die Höllentür
