Flugs hebt er den Fuß

Mit dem viel zu großen Schuh

Schlägt sodann ein Rad

Und all die Kinder schau´n ihm zu

Er lächelt immerfort

Und aufhören kann er nicht

Mit rot-weißer Farb´

Untrennbar im Gesicht

Die grüne Pluderhose

Rote Haare, bunter Hut

Gehör´n zu der Fassade

Zu der Mauer die er zieht

Stein um Stein um sich herum

Kein Blick sie je durchdringt

Wer will schon wissen ob ein Clown

Auch nach der Show noch singt?

Wage einen Blick in seine Welt

Sobald der Vorhang fällt

Während der Show ist er der Star

Ist er der große Held

In der Manege des Lebens immer nur die Randfigur

Im eigenen Film die Nebenrolle nur…

Nichts von dem was wir doch sahen

Eine einsame Träne

Zieht durch die Schminke ihre Bahn

Verwischt das ewige Lächeln

Offenbart die Wirklichkeit

Doch ist niemand zugegen

Der ihm hilft, sie mit ihm teilt

Der Clown ist das Symbol

Für viele die ich kenn

Vorne Maskerade

Hinten Schmerz, der endlos quält

Jedoch das einz´ge ist was zählt…

And he can't stop

With red and white colour

Inseparable in the face

The green pant

Red hair, colorful hat

Belong to the facade

To the wall he builds

Stone by stone around you

No gaze ever penetrates them

Who wants to know if a clown

Still singing after the show?

Take a look into his world

As soon as the curtain falls

During the show he is the star

Is he the great hero?

In the circus ring of life only the marginal figure

In his own film, the supporting role only...

Nothing like what we saw

A lonely tear

Draws its way through the make-up

Erases the eternal smile

reveals reality

But no one is present

Who helps him, shares them with him

The clown is the symbol

For many I know

Front masquerade

Back pain that torments endlessly

But the only thing that counts...
