Venne giorno, perse la strada del ritorno

Le restarono al fondo del vento solo due…

Incontrò uno spaventapasseri

Un uomo di latta, un leone codardo

Che ancora prima di conoscerli

«dove vai?»

le chiesero in coro

«Voglio un mondo dove» disse Dorothy

Non ci sia nessun mago di Oz!»

E mentre scappava, guardava, guardava le sue scarpette d’argento;

E mentre scappava diceva

«portatemi a casa scarpette d’argento!
