Katseessani kirkas valo

matkaan läpi autiuden.

Kenttätaistelun taakse jäänyt

vain toistaa vaimeita kirouksiaan.

Veljeni ja viholliseni;

ei kukaan heistäsano sanaakaan.

Miekan terän tunsin rinnassani,

nyt kuulen kutsun Tuonelan.

Sade huuhtoo tuhot taistelun,

vereni virtaansa vie.

Alla tähtitaivaan pohjoisen

vaan en (enää) päällämaan…

Turhaan pelkäisin saapumista

kuolemattomien keskuuteen.

Käsi kädessäikuisuuden

hyppään reunalta tyhjyyden.

With a radiant light in my eyes

I travel through this desolation.

The field of battle left behind

repeating its subdued curses.

My brothers together with my foes;

none of them speaks a word.

The edge of a sword I felt in my chest,

now I can hear the call of Tuonela.

Wash now rain the ruins of the battle,

carry my blood along the streams.

Under the stars of the northern sky

but no more on the earth…

Needlessly would I fear my arrival

to the company of the immortal.

Hand in hand with infinity

I draw away from emptiness.

Bright light in my eyes

the journey through desert.

Left behind in the field battle

just repeats his faint curses.

My brothers and enemies;

none of them say a word.

I felt the blade of the sword in my chest,

now I hear the call of Tuonela.

The rain washes away the devastation of the battle,

my blood is flowing.

Below the starry sky to the north

but not (anymore) on the ground…

In vain would I fear arrival

among the immortals.

Hand in hand for eternity

I jump from the edge of emptiness.
