Eisblumen - Kastelruther Spatzen

Ein Mädchen steht vor’m Fenster mit strahlendem Gesicht,

Blumen will es pflücken, doch leider geht es nicht.

Es ist noch viel zu klein, um es zu verstehn,

nie im Leben hat es eine Blume aus Eis gesehn.

Blume im Fenster, warum blühst im Winter du nur

und nicht im Sommer, wenn’s warm ist draußen im Flur?

So sieht das Mädchen die Eisblume an

und versteht nicht, warum sie nur im Winter blühen kann.

Ganz freudig sieht’s im Fenster die Eisblumen blühn,

doch wie es hingreift muß es die Blumen zerrinnen sehn.

Es fließen nun dem Mädchen die Tränen übers Gesicht,

denn es muß verstehen, Eisblumen pflückt man nicht.
