Auf der Seiseralm - Kastelruther Spatzen

Ich war in meiner Jugendzeit ein Lausbub, wie so viele

Schrammen gab es hundertfach, und das bei jedem Spiele"

Kam ich mit einer Wunde heim, das war gewiss nicht selten,

da lachten meine Eltern nur und sagten, statt zu schelten:

Im Summer kannst zum Hiat´n giahn,

wohl auf der Seiseralm.

Da hoalen deine Knia recht schian,

viel besser, als mit Salb´n!

Und brauchst a koane Medizin,

für deine zwidern Phas´,.

Bei ins´rer alte Schwoagerin

kriegst wieder große Hax´n.

Inzwischen rann die Zeit vorbei, ich bin ein Mann geworden.

Ich fand die Frauen Wunderschön und wurde ganz verdorben!

Und eine von den Hübschesten, ich kann es noch nicht fassen,

sagte mit ´nem Unterton, bevor sie mich verlassen:

Nun sind es viele Jahre schon, seitdem ich Opa war.

Die Beine tun´s schon lang nicht mehr, grau färbte sich der Bart!

Da ging ich jüngst zum Medikus und wollte ein paar Pillen.

Der lachte mich aus und sagte nur, ganz gegen meinen Willen:

Now it's been many years since I was grandpa.

The legs haven't done it for a long time, the beard has turned gray!

I recently went to the doctor and wanted a few pills.

He laughed at me and only said, against my will:
