sie ist der Atem der Heimat

Die Amsel hat mich oft geweckt

ich sah wie sie die Flügel streckt

die Luft war wie ein Geigenspiel

es war Frühling in den Bergen

als Kind da hab' ich nie gefragt

wo meine Wurzeln sind

im Edelweißgarten gab die Antwort mir Nachts der Wind

Der Sommer kam wie ein Rubin

ließ tausend Alpenrosen blühn

als Zeichen der Vergänglichkeit

ließ der Herbst die Blüten sterben

wie ein Sternenmantel lag der Schnee

auf Gipfeln der Faneshöh'n
