Un arbre m’a dit

Qu’il aimait la brise

Et la brume grise

A moi m'étourdit

J’ai tout oublié

Pour faire un poème

Où l’amour lui-même

Au vent m’a lié

Je n'étais pas grand

Je courais dans l’herbe

Et la vie superbe

Coulait dans mon sang

Parfois quelques fleurs

Enflammaient ma tête

Et je faisais fête

Aux vertes lueurs

Un arbre poussait

Penché sur le fleuve

Attendant qu’il pleuve

Et l’aube dansait

Moi, j’ignorais tout

Des astres qui sombrent

Et du poids des ombres

Et des mauvais coups

J’allais sur la rive

Où les mots s’effacent

D’une île sans trace

Pour qu’un oiseau vive

Je n’attendais rien

Qu’un peu de lumière

Et l’or des rivières

Était mon seul bien

L’oiseau resplendit

Sans moi mon arbre est mort

Saule ou sycomore

Range au paradis

A tree told me

That he loved the breeze

And the gray haze

To me makes me dizzy

I have forgotten everything

To make a poem

where love itself

To the wind has bound me

I was not tall

I was running in the grass

And the superb life

Flowed in my blood

Sometimes a few flowers

Ignited my head

And I was celebrating

In the green lights

A tree was growing

Leaning over the river

Waiting for it to rain

And the dawn was dancing

Me, I was unaware of everything

Sinking stars

And the weight of shadows

And bad shots

I was going to the shore

where the words fade away

From an island without a trace

For a bird to live

I expected nothing

Just a little light

And the gold of the rivers

Was my only good

The bird shines

Without me my tree is dead

willow or sycamore

Tidy up in paradise
