Felina e silenziosa come il lupo

Del tuo viluppo

Il fiume Muglia sempre laggiù in fondo

E nel silenzio bevi la sua voce

Racconta questo eterno vagabondo

Storie del viaggio da sorgente a foce

Ma lo interrompe un camion errabondo

Che romba veloce

Ehi notte, che ricalchi l’atmosfera

Svagata e dolce di quando ero bambino

E la battola ritmica sbatteva

In casa giù dai ruoti all’abbaino

E sentivi le macine frusciare dentro il mulino

Ehi notte, quante notti ti ho incontrato

Quando tutti eravamo ancora ignari

Di quel che ci sarebbe capitato

Notti senza traguardi e cellulari

E immortali avevamo forza e fiato

Come corsari

La notte la lasciavi scivolare

E poi svaniva col primo barlume

Età acerba, la gran voglia di andare

A parlare coi boschi e con il fiume

Mentre adesso quel mondo ti scompare

Sotto il bitume

Le rime di poeti ormai scordati

Pagine lette a vuoto, tutto e niente

Chimici giochi erosi dalla mente

Via frantumati

Ehi notte, larga e oscura di altre notti

Rabbiose, fatte a morsi, divorate

Prendendo a gabbo ipocriti e bigotti

Lunghe d’inverno, eterne nelle estati

Chitarra e vino e via come cazzotti

Notti passate

Ma tutto cambia attorno e già lo sai

Ti gira dentro e fuori la tua età

E allora, notte, che mi porterai?

Rimpianto, noia quiete o verità?

O, indifferente a tutto, te ne andrai

Senza pietà?

Notte di stelle a correre nel cielo

O son le nubi che spinte dal vento

Sbatacchiano impazzite come un telo

Che cambia forma e posa ogni momento

E la luna scompare dietro un velo

D’ombra e d’argento

Le poche luci accese sulle coste

Figurano un presepio di maniera

Immagini e animali nelle roste

E voci d’altri tempi e d’altra era

Se di domande accennano risposte

È una preghiera

Ehi notte, che mi lasci immaginare

Fra buio e luci, quando tutto tace

I giorni per la quiete e per lottare

Il tempo di tempesta e di bonacce

Notte tranquilla che mi fai trovare, forse

Guitar and wine and off like punches

Past nights

But everything changes around and you already know it

It turns you in and out of your age

So, night, what will you bring me?

Regret, boredom, quiet or truth?

Or, indifferent to everything, you will leave

Mercilessly?

Night of stars running in the sky

Or are the clouds pushed by the wind

They rattle like a blanket

That changes shape and pose every moment

And the moon disappears behind a veil

Of shade and silver

The few lights on on the coasts

They figure a way crib

Images and animals in the roste

And voices from other times and from another era

If questions hint at answers

It is a prayer

Hey night, let me imagine

Between darkness and lights, when everything is silent

Days for quiet and fighting

The time of storm and calm

Quiet night that you make me find, perhaps
