Tot és tan fosc aquesta nit

Qui ha marxat no tornarà

I la buidor que tens al pit

Potser el temps te l’omplirà

Tot és tan gris aquest matí

Que ni els ocells volen volar

Vull para el temps ara i aquí

I tornar a començar!

La tarda avança cap al vespre

I ara és tan tard com ahir

Ningú no obre cap finestra

Cruel ha vençut el destí

Ara fa vent, bufa de ponent

Les fulles seques ballen un trist compàs

Volen al vent… i s’alcen

Volen al vent… i cauen

Un fred estrany aquesta nit

La pluja dibuixa un vel

El forn de pa s’ha fet petit

Cauen llàgrimes de gel

Aspre verí d’aquest matí

M’ha despertat la veritat

El malson és d’ara i aquí

I ningú no ha somiat!

La tarda és més orfe que mai

El vespre es banya de dol

La solitud omple l’espai

Com trigarà a sortir el sol

The rain draws a veil

The bread oven has become small

Tears of ice fall

Rough poison this morning

The nightmare is here and now

And no one has dreamed!

The evening is more orphaned than ever

The evening is bathed in grief

Loneliness fills the space

How long will it take for the sun to rise?

It's windy now, blowing from the west
