Golden die Nacht

Golden der Nebel

Der über die Dinge wacht

Des Morgens Antlitz war noch jung

Noch unberührt, die Stille war noch rein

Das sanfte Licht, der Sonne Strahl

Ließ die Nacht vergehn

Denn sie schlief leise ein

Wie verzaubert saß ich hier

In des Tages Armen

Und ich wiegte mich darin

Tat das Glück umarmen

Nun tanzten Stimmen um mich her

Des Tages Wort erklang von nah und fern

Und sie wurden immer mehr

Drangen in mich ein

Ich wollte nichts mehr hören

Da erklang ein Ton in mir

Der von Frieden träumte

Und ich wünschte mir die Nacht

Die die Stille säumte

Golden the mist

who watches over things
