Gästen - Dråpsnatt

Himlen öppnar sig

Som så många gånger förr

Men en helt ny gäst

Tigg vid vår dörr

Han fyller oss med fruktan

«Ni bäst er offergåva gett»

För varken människa eller djur

Har sett det som han har sett

Vid begynnelsen av allt liv

Han höll stjärnor och världallt i sin hand

Men ej det vackraste av ting

Kunde hindra honom från att bryta dödens band

The sky opens up

As so many times before

But a brand new guest

Beg at our door

He fills us with fear

"You best gave your offering"

For neither man nor animal

Have seen what he has seen

At the beginning of all life

He held stars and the world in his hand

But not the most beautiful of things

Could stop him from breaking the bond of death
