De entre as suas devoções

O poeta em orações

Escreve os poemas e fados

Ilumina os mais cansados

Quem escreve suas canções

Dá-nos saber e coragem

E é inspirado pela sorte

De uma tal singela arte

Que só o talento tem

Escreve poemas porém

Na tentativa demente

De dizer a toda a gente

Nas emoções que não teve

Segue mentindo quem escreve

Dizendo aquilo que sente

Pois esta sabedoria

Torna-o assim imortal

Dai-lhe coragem igual

À do herói da alegoria

Vive numa fantasia

O poeta nas canções

Leva a todos emoções

Dá imagens a beber

Ilumina e dá saber

Faz crescer os corações

Agora entendo a canção

Que ouvi uma vida inteira

Com a tua sementeira

Cresceu o meu coração

E nas noites ao serão

Ouvi cantar tanta gente

Desta forma comovente

Cresce assim como a flor

Illuminates the most tired

Give us knowledge and courage

And it's inspired by luck

Of such a simple art

That only talent has

Whoever writes continues to lie
