Problem is an American rapper, songwriter, and record producer from Compton, California, born May 8, 1980. His debut extended play, Understand Me was released in December 2013. Problem gained widespread recognition for his 2013 single "Like Whaaat" and his guest verses on E-40 "Function" (2012) and Childish Gambino "Sweatpants" (2013). His work has contributed to the development of West Coast hip-hop, combining traditional elements of the genre with a modern sound.
