He is a member of the hip hop group Black Hippy , which also includes Kendrick Lamar , Ab-Soul , and Schoolboy Q Growing up in a crime-ridden neighborhood, Jay Rock often addresses themes of street life in his lyrics. His debut album "Follow Me Home" (2011), received critical acclaim, and the track "King's Dead" (2018) earned him a Grammy Award. Jay Rock has made significant contributions to the development of street hip hop while remaining true to his roots.
