Nautilus Pompilius was a Soviet and Russian rock band founded in 1982 in Sverdlovsk (now Yekaterinburg). The band was formed by Vyacheslav Butusov and Dmitry Umetsky, students of Свердловского архитектурного института . The band's debut album, "Переезд" was released in 1983. Nautilus Pompilius gained widespread fame in the late 1980s thanks to hits such as "Гудбай, Америка" ​​and "Я хочу быть с тобой" The band ended its activity in 1997, leaving a significant mark on the history of Russian rock.
