
Ляпис Трубецкой was a Soviet and Belarusian punk rock band founded in 1990. The band's name refers to a character in Ilya Ilf and Yevgeny Petrov's novel "The Twelve Chairs"—the poet Nikifor Lyapis, who wrote under the pseudonym Trubetskoy. The band gained fame for its vibrant and provocative lyrics and energetic performances. Among its most famous songs are "Яблони" "Капитал" and "Воины света" The band ended its activity in 2014, leaving a significant mark on the history of Belarusian and post-Soviet rock music.
