Ibrahim Ferrer (full name Ibrahim Ferrer Planas ) is a Cuban singer, born on February 20, 1927, in Santiago de Cuba. He rose to prominence through his participation in the Buena Vista Social Club project, which revived interest in traditional Cuban music. His soft voice and charisma made him a crowd favorite, and albums such as "Buena Vista Social Club Presents Ibrahim Ferrer" received international acclaim. In 2004, he was awarded a Grammy Award for Best Traditional Tropical Latin Album. Ibrahim Ferrer has left a significant mark on Latin American music, popularizing Cuban traditions on the world stage.
