
Heidevolk is a Dutch band founded in 2002. They perform folk metal, drawing inspiration from nature, the history of the province of Gelderland, and Germanic mythology. Almost all of their lyrics are written in their native Dutch, emphasizing their cultural identity. The name Heidevolk translates as "pagan people." The band has released several albums, including "Walhalla Wacht" and "Batavi" which have received acclaim in the folk metal community. Heidevolk have made a significant contribution to the popularization of folk metal, combining powerful guitar riffs with traditional melodies.
