George Mraz

George Mraz (born Jiří Mráz ) was a prominent jazz double bassist from Czechoslovakia, born in 1944. His career spanned decades, and he became known as a master of traditional jazz. Mraz collaborated with legends such as Oscar Peterson , Charles Mingus , and Tommy Flanagan . He also recorded for renowned labels, including Verve Records and Concord Jazz . Among his best-known works are the albums " My Foolish Heart " and " Duke's Place ." His contribution to jazz music lies in his virtuoso technique and ability to enrich ensembles with his unique sound.
