Anneke Van Giersbergen is a Dutch vocalist, born on March 8, 1973. She is known for her role in the band The Gathering , where she served as vocalist from 1994 to 2007. After leaving The Gathering she founded her own project Agua de Annique . Anneke later became the vocalist for The Gentle Storm , which later evolved into Vuur . Her work spans the genres of alternative and foreign rock, and her contributions to the development of these genres have made her one of the iconic figures of the Dutch rock scene.
