Andrew Bird is an American indie rock multi-instrumentalist, singer, and songwriter born in 1973. Since 1996, he has released 16 studio albums, along with live albums and EPs, exploring genres like swing, indie rock, and folk. Known for his distinctive violin technique, he incorporates loops, effects pedals, whistling, and vocals into his performances. In the 1990s, he played in jazz ensembles such as Squirrel Nut Zippers and Quality Six. Later, he formed his own swing band, Andrew Bird's Bowl of Fire, releasing three albums between 1998 and 2001. His innovative approach has significantly influenced the indie genre.
