Al Jarreau (real name: Элвин Лопес Джерро ) is an American jazz and pop singer, born in 1940 in the United States. A seven-time «Грэмми» Award winner, he is the only artist to have received awards in three categories: jazz, pop, and rhythm and blues. His style was distinguished by virtuoso improvisations, sound imitations, and the use of scat singing. In 2001, Al Jarreau received a star on the Hollywood «Аллее славы» . His work has made a significant contribution to the popularization of instrumental singing and the genre of mainstream fusion.
